Clothes

Once winter rolls around it's time to pack away those fashionable light jackets, and pull out your heavy coats from storage. Those spending there first winter here may not own a heavy coat, or any warm clothing for that matter. If you don't have any warm cloths then layering your clothing works really well. layering clothing is one of the best ways to keep warm and the method most often used by students. On a usual winter day a student can be found wearing long underwear plus an undershirt, shirt, jacket, and scarf. Be sure you can take some of these layers off as the day goes on though, because school buildings become ovens in the winter.
A coat is a must though, so if you don't already have one you need to go out and buy one. There are many places in Rexburg such as Walmart, K-Mart, or Mauices that a coat can be bought. There are even more stores in Idaho Falls such as Target, Kohls, and a shopping mall. Be sure the coat you buy is wind resistant, light, and warm. If you want to keep extra warm purchase a 3/4 quarter coat. Some other things you should buy to keep warm are

-Scarfs
-Boots
-Long underwear
-Earmuffs
-Hat

There is a running joke said by many girls in Rexburg, "You know when it's cold when fashion flys out the window." Sadly this can be true. Who looks good as a puff marshmallow? Not many, but at least you will be warm which will help you survive until the warm summer season. So for these next week months bundle up, drink some hot chocolate, and try to stay warm.
